Nevada Women’s Fund Names Kerri Garcia as Chair of Women of Achievement
2018 Salute to Women of Achievement Luncheon to be held May 24
RENO, Nev. – The Nevada Women’s Fund has named Kerri Garcia, Director of Communications for

the University of Nevada, Reno, as Chairwoman of the 2018 Nevada Women’s Fund Women of Achievement Luncheon. The event is scheduled for Thursday, May 24 at Grand Sierra Resort in the Grand Ballroom from 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.
“The Women of Achievement luncheon is such a wonderful way for organizations to honor one of their own and at the same time support the good work of the Nevada Women’s Fund,” said Garcia. “I’m honored to serve as Chair of this year’s luncheon and look forward to seeing many business and community friends on May 24.”
The annual luncheon serves as a recognition event for women in the region for their professional, personal and community achievements. Honorees of the Women of Achievement Luncheon will participate in an uplifting, motivational session followed by the recognition luncheon.
Throughout her more than two decades of public relations and communications experience, Kerri has proven to be a profoundly respected professional who is actively involved with many important issues that impact our local community. Her career has spanned the corporate communications, advertising agency and non-profit arenas, as well as owning her public relations consulting business.
A native Nevadan, Kerri attended UNR on a full-ride athletic scholarship for tennis. After many years, she returned to her alma mater roots to contribute to its rich tradition while looking toward its future of growth. She sits on several community boards and committees, including serving as a member and past president of the board of directors for the Boys & Girls Club of Truckee Meadows and as a board member for Western Industrial Nevada (WIN). She is a past president of the Nevada Women’s Fund board of directors (2008); has chaired Renown Health’s Community Advisory Committee; and served as president of the Public Relations Society of America, Sierra Nevada Chapter.
